Britta’s wish came true when I decided she was old enough to have her first sleepover date. The victim guest: Riley. And after the visit, the little lady decided she was hooked on older men. And maybe, just maybe… Riley will agree that it’s not so bad being older either.

Without further ado, we give you Top Ten Reasons Why Being Old Rules:

    10. When your mamma goes on vacation, she leaves you in the hands of a very feisty vixen.

    # 10: Britta getting hot on Riley, just 5 minutes after visiting.

    9. Like a Sultan, you get to spend your entire day lounging on the couch.

    # 9: Britta nurses Riley's owie.

    8. When you’re taken to the park, you get full access to tennis balls: all you can chew for 90 minutes.

    # 8: Funtime at the park; Riley lost interest in running when he discovered tennis balls.

    7. Your woman even leaves you alone… as long as she’s got a Frisbee.

    # 7: Britta hearts Frisbees.

    6. You’re the one that gets to say, “not tonight, honey.”

    # 6: Nub nub nub...

    5. Have I mentioned, it’s good to get couch-time?

    # 5: It's a hard life.

    4. Unlimited access to love bites.

    3. Serious: unlimited access to loves bites.

    # 3: Getting the drift here? ;-)

    2. Women just throw themselves at you.

    # 2: "Ready to play now???"

    # 2: “Ready to play now???”

    1. You get first-choice at where you want to sleep at night.

    # 1: "Mamma... Help! Riley got into my bed again..."

    # 1: “Mamma… Help! Riley got into my bed again…”

Britta had a grand time. Every morning, the dynamic duo fought to see who could get out the door first to “piddle.” Then it was race to see who could eat faster. And if you’re Britta, morning activities included a brief cat chase. (Riley was gentleman enough to leave them alone.)

Warm afternoons meant naps on the patio, and evenings were spent watching TV (reference # 5). And love nubs by Britta. We were sad to see Riley go… maybe someday, his mamma will let him come back?!

P.S. Britta even donated surrendered her bed to the guest. :o)

"Mamma.... I'm serious! I need help!! Riley's in my bed and he won't get up." (Riley: No chance, lady. Not after you've been biting me all day.)

“Mamma…. I’m serious! I need help!! Riley’s in my bed and he won’t get up.” (Riley: No chance, lady. Not after you’ve been biting me all day.)

...after a long and fruitless fight, Britta finally settled down. And pappa tucked her in...zzz... zz... ZZzzz...

Very cute 🙂 I love my pair of Weims too! Just a side note, the fuzzy tennis balls can eat away at your dogs enamel fyi. My female Weim Wiley’s teeth wore down considerably from tennis balls. Then I found out that the fuzzy yellow stuff on them has a chemical on it bad for dog’s teeth! So, now I use the hard orange street hockey ball. 🙂

    JW’s Dog Toy Recommendations

Orbee Ball. Need we say more? If your dog loves to play ball, this is a major upgrade from her old stinky tennis ball!

GoDog toys with ChewGuard: Roadkill, Mr. Monkey with “pullable” arms, Toughskin rhino, and the stretchy moose. All these guys take a beating and keep on kicking. The monkey stood up to 4 puppies and 2 big dogs playing tug with it!

Zogoflex Hurley, Huck, and Tux are great toys that our dogs love to chase, roll, and bounce. The Bumi (a thinner, “S” shaped tug toy) went south thanks to my sister’s pit mix. They do have a good guarantee for a one-time replacement or refund, so always worth looking into!
