If My Weims Had Thumbs*…

…they’d be writing letters to Santa.

(*This is just one of our long time jokes. :)  If our Weims had thumbs, they’d be opening up the refrigerator and cupboards stealing food and toys… oh wait, they already do this! We’re just lucky our Weims only have brains – no thumbs! Phew!)

In any case, here are my Weims’ all time favorite items for the holidays (and any time!)

Riley’s list to Santa:

What can I say? Best. Toy. Ever. If you have a fetching machine like Riley and if you throw like a girl like me, the Chuckit is for you. It’s a great way to give your Weim a quick exercise session. Hey and get these Chuckit balls for extra fun!
It’s a classic for a reason. The black Kongs are for more aggressive chewers like mine, but you can get different shapes and sizes. Stuff and freeze them with peanut butter and other goodies for a crate treat.
You wouldn’t think the dogs would really like these, but Nylabones are another classic. I like raw marrow bones better, but these are far less messy and do a lot of the same thing. Be careful about your dogs teeth with these though. They are hard and can wear down or even chip/break teeth, especially with older dogs.
Riley is definitely a de-stuffer, but this toy allows him to de-stuff without actually ruining the toy. I only give this to him under supervision though!
Hey even an old guy’s gotta look good right? These Dublin collars are waterproof, clean up and wipe dry in a jiffy. Best of all they don’t harbor bacteria and stink. They also come in loads cool designs. Riley points out that the “hunter orange” isn’t quite hunter orange, but then again he likes the skull and crossbones anyway.

Indy’s list

It’s her regular fare (along with Honest Kitchen products) but she likes it and would eat until she popped if I let her. I usually feed the raw frozen kind, but the freeze dried version is excellent for traveling! These have no grains, preservatives, dyes, hormones, antibiotics, sugar or salt. USDA certified meat and with real bone.
These Honest Kitchen Wishes treats are great for dogs with allergies since they are made with white fish and have no corn, wheat or rice in it. (Great for dogs without allergies too, sez Indy!)
A girl’s gotta look good, and Zoom Grooms do the job best for short coated Weimaraners. Forgo the bath (too many aren’t good for the coat anyway) and give them a good brisk brush with a Zoom Groom instead. It will take off all the dead hairs and give a little massage at the same time – aaah!
Seeing that Indy’s been the only one of my Weims that has been skunked (I hope I didn’t just jinx it!) this skunk toy is perfect for her! This toy is already de-stuffed and quite durable, so if you have de-stuffers like mine, these may be perfect for your Weim!
Indy sleeps in style. Uhh… OK, so she sleeps on our bed, but when she isn’t, she likes this bed with the William Wegman print. ;)

Tude’s list

Tude’s been a bad girl and she may just get rocks in her stocking! We’ll see if Santa is good to her!
