Where do I start? Well first of all, for those that are not familiar with Dr. Dodds, she is THE authority on immune disorders, thyroid disease and nutrition in dogs. There was so much excellent information shared at this seminar, it is actually a bit difficult for me to summarize it in a neat package… Thankfully, Dr. Dodds very graciously gave JW permission to distribute all her handouts in the upcoming newsletter, so if you haven’t signed up to receive the free newsletter please do so now. (You can sign up by filling out the form in the right sidebar, or for those seeing this on Facebook or RSS, a form is below for your convenience.)
The handouts include Dodds latest vaccination protocol, a FAQ on vaccines, a FAQ on thyroid diagnostis, an article on thyroid disease, an article on nutrition, and more. In the seminar, she talked about a saliva test for allergies which is in essence predictive – how cool is that! This is mentioned in the nutrition handout also.
I am tempted to go on and on about everything I learned in the seminar, but I’m sure my own notes are biased towards particular problems or interests that I have, and anyway, why would I ever think that I could say it better than Dr. Dodds or co-presenter Dr. Robert Woods?
Woods spoke on holistic therapies such as homeopathy, Chinese herbs, nutriceuticals, prolotherapy etc., and even did an acupuncture demo. I missed the demo unfortunately, but I did get the tour of the new Heompet facilities.
My heartfelt thanks to Drs. Dodds and Woods for their all day presentations that were engaging and most of all which will allow me to make healthier choices for my Weims. Thanks also to the Irish Setter Club of Southern California who hosted a great event – even if I didn’t win that field quilt in the raffle.
